BUILD RELATIONSHIPS AND YOU BUILD YOUR BUSINESS

People want to do business with those with whom they have a relationship. For the most part, we establish relationships with those whom we desire to get to know better. They intrigue us or attract us for one reason or another. The old days of prospecting are dead and gone because of the Internet. Rumors fly too fast, new information is too accessible, constant new opportunities lead to too many conflicts of interest.

Of course, the true core concept of successful prospecting and selling remains the same--but now it has so much more power and prestige. Forget about cold calling and network. Build relationships. But the thing of it is, nowadays once you've established connections with your affiliates, the loyalty that once was there is no longer there as it once was. For you see, with the Internet, there is so much information to access--never mind whether it's good or bad, true or not so true---that people are constantly being led away to seek more gold elsewhere. It is now harder to build the loyalty that keeps your business together.

Any MLM business thrives on relationships and loyalty. You need to find the way to prevent people from constantly leaving you, just like you need to put no stock in cold calling potential customers. Social networking is the answer to this.

FRIENDS DON'T BETRAY OR ABANDON FRIENDS

Social networking within the context of MLM is all about making friends. That's fun, isn't it? When you've got a friend, they are much more willing to listen to what you have to say. If they become part of your business, they are less likely to just drop you in a few months to chase that which touts itself as the latest and greatest.

MLM thrives on loyalty and staying power. You're just earning residuals from your downline of distributors. When it comes to most of them, if they feel like they have just been invited to join some other, hotter enterprise--they won't stay with you. Especially not if one of your upper tier leaders decides to leave--s/he'll take most everyone along.

When you correctly use the might of social networking tools like Facebook, Stumble Upon, and Twitter, among several others, you create friends. These friends are those who will turn into loyal customers, and some of them will turn into loyal affiliates. They have a friendship and common interests with you. They won't just chase off after the next big, hollow thing.
